MAPS Festival, a new Arts Council funded festival for families focusing on music art and play. The festival is produced by Chalk, producers of cultural events for children and families across Newcastle upon Tyne.
MAPS Festival will take place from Friday 15th - Sunday 17th February 2019 across venues in Newcastle and Gateshead. It will be a creative and immersive weekend of art, music and play aimed at children under 8 and their grown ups. Through bespoke festival commissions and innovative programme of play led arts experiences MAPS will be unexpected, bold and ambitious. From interactive gigs to artist led play environments the events will expose audiences to a new high quality arts experiences and develop innovative collaborative practice between artists and art forms.
Chalk and BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art are seeking proposals from artists to present a high quality, interactive arts experience for children under 8 as part of Chalk's MAPS Festival in February 2019. View the open call here.
